GridFusion knowledge

Answers, setup guidance and background information for Control 7.

Privacy and data backup

Overview · Prices and forecasts · Security

GridFusion operates locally by default. Local metering, history and safe operation do not require general cloud telemetry.

Local data

Control 7 stores configuration and a bounded history locally. A suitable SD card can provide a larger database. Without an SD card, the system continues using a bounded and protected local fallback. An SD card is never formatted automatically.

Optional server backup

The operator decides in the local Control 7 backend whether normalized energy data may be backed up on the GridFusion server and used to improve forecasts. Permission is voluntary and can be withdrawn.

Transferred data is limited to normalized values such as grid power, PV power, household consumption, battery power, state of charge and data quality. Passwords, tokens, Wi-Fi credentials, raw registers and vendor-specific protocol data are not part of this transfer.

For meaningful seasonal comparisons, approved long-term history is designed for at least five years. The applicable retention period, available export and possible deletion are shown in the customer account or privacy settings.

Consent and AI

AI improvement requires the corresponding server backup permission but remains separate from hardware control. Ending AI use must not disable the local installation. Pending and server-confirmed consent are displayed separately.

Data rights

Depending on account and contract, approved data can be exported or deleted. Deletion is processed safely without affecting another tenant, required audit links or mandatory legal retention.
