GridFusion knowledge

Answers, setup guidance and background information for Control 7.

Getting started

Overview · Dashboard · Troubleshooting

1. Install safely

Control 7 and connected energy equipment must be installed according to the respective manufacturer instructions. Work on mains voltage, distribution panels, current transformers or permanently connected equipment must only be carried out by qualified professionals.

2. Switch on the device

Control 7 performs self-tests during startup. Wait until display, storage and network status are shown. After a restart, several valid measurement cycles are collected before any new hardware control can be considered.

3. Configure the network

Open the network settings on the device and connect it to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network. DHCP is the recommended default. Assigned IPv4 and IPv6 information is displayed when provided by the network.

On a new or reset installation, setup mode is active only temporarily. A permanently open setup hotspot is not intended during normal operation.

4. Open the local interface

Use the local address or hostname shown on the display. A browser may initially show a certificate notice for a local connection. Verify that you are connecting to your own Control 7 on the local network.

Choose a unique administrator password. Do not reuse a password from your email account, router or another service.

5. Add devices

Start local discovery or add a device manually. GridFusion only displays capabilities that the driver has identified safely. Credentials and vendor-specific details remain inside the driver and are not treated as generic energy data.

6. Check direction and plausibility

Before enabling optimization, verify that:

  • household consumption and PV output roughly match the vendor displays;
  • grid import and export are shown in the correct direction;
  • battery state of charge and charge/discharge direction are plausible; and
  • all required phases are visible.

Advanced functions should only be enabled after stable and plausible measurements have been confirmed.
